Sly n robbie groove

This is more of a musical interlude thread than anything else. Sly n robbie, widely renowned as one of the best bass and drums partnerships. This is them from 1999, and though it sounds like a drum machine, it's not, it's sly dunbar on drums. Wicked groove on this version of 'we are family' but with a billy jean bassline. Well I think it's great anyway. Simple but perfect groove. Take a break from chops and get into the groove. Rodge, you'll definitely dig this. Enjoy [img]smile.gif[/img]

Me, I'm currently digging the "2005 Pocket" entry from Drummerworld's Grooves page, here. One fill and four crashes for a hint of flavour, and four and a half pounds of raw, unprocessed Steve Jordan groove for body.

This immediately reminded me of Jacko's Billy Jean groove. I can't hear any hats in this mix...I think this is not a live drummer playing. And when we talk about groove, the bass line almost dictates this to be a "groove" tune. If you like this, then most of Lenny Kravitz stuff should be appealing. He plays drums on most of his tunes.
